I’m proud to announce that since of today, I have been asked by the founders  Freek Beemster and Bart Veldhuis to become a committee member of the Cloud Architect Alliance. I’m very honoured and will do my very best to support this great community.

VeeamOn Tour 2017 – Spijkenisse Netherlands Summary

Veeam is touring through the Netherlands and one of these stops was Spijkenisse. I blocked this date in my calendar because as a Blogger and Cloud Evangelist, I wanted to attend. Although I visited VeeamON in New Orleans, I was excited for an update about their upcoming releases and the other topics sounded also very interesting.

VeeamON Tour began with a warm welcome from Lodewijk van Klaveren, Manager Channels Benelux and a strategic overview where Veeam was and where Veeam will be heading in the future. This was held very short to give the audience enough time to hear about all the new technical stuff Veeam will offer in the upcoming release.

Lack of (Business) strategy still very relevant in 2017!

During my work, I often speak to CxO directors and their business. They ask me to guide and coach them in creating a technical roadmap which truly enable their core business.

The last few months I have been working for a end-user company which did not have a vision, mission and strategy. During my work, I asked the CEO for this, so I could align IT Architecture with the company and setup governance to achieve and pursuit these company goals. This was because the CEO asked me to setup Architecture and he wanted his company to work accordingly.  image my surprise when I asked him about his vision, mission and strategy for his company, I did not expect this answer from him. This also a reason for me to leave the company and look further, because no vision or strategy for me means no goals and no future…

Azure AD DS in the new Azure portal is GA

You can configure Azure Active Directory Domain Services (Azure AD DS) by using the new Azure portal (portal.azure.com). This feature is now GA (generally available) in all Azure regions that the service supports.

All existing managed domains have been migrated to the new portal from the Azure classic portal. You can configure and manage existing managed domains by using the new Azure portal.
